Synapse II Course Description
This course is a continuation of the GDES 491t Tasmeem Synpase 1 course; the generation of the three Synapse venture projects. The course’s objective is to engage students in different disciplines to collaborate and work toward producing final results for the Synapse themes. The structure of the course is a design studio experience and environment where instructors serve as advisors, mentors and/or design directors to facilitate students through out the working process. Students will also be working collaboratively with external international designers who will serve as Synapse team leaders for each project. Students will be required to gain experience in design problem solving and working on real world projects. This course is designed to introduce students to conceptual development, strategic thinking and design through integrated activities. They will learn to plan and manage projects from inception to completion of a design solution. Students will be introduced to various design and creative processes through a variety of projects and case studies.
